How do I reset my location settings (iOS, Safari)?

How to reset your location/GPS settings if you're using iOS, Safari.

Important Notice:

We understand that following these steps may feel a bit tedious, but unfortunately, they are necessary due to limitations imposed by iOS and Safari's handling of location permissions for web applications. These settings are beyond our control, but by completing the steps below, you'll ensure that Incidenta can properly access your device's location, providing you with the best possible experience. We appreciate your patience and understanding!

1. Enable Location Services

  1. Go to: Settings > Privacy & Security.

  2. Ensure Location Services are On.

2. Clear History and Website Data

  1. Go to: Settings > Safari.

  2. Tap Clear History and Website Data.

  3. Tap Clear History and Data" when prompted.

2. Allow Safari to Access Location

  1. Go to: Settings > Safari > Location.

  2. Select Allow.

  3. Close the Settings app.

  4. Open the Safari app.

  5. If prompted with "Allow Safari to use your location," choose Allow While Using App.

If the prompt appears and you successfully allow it, go to step 4.1. If not, follow step 4.2.

4.1. Enable Location in the Incidenta App

  1. Open Incidenta from your home screen or go to https://app.incidenta.org in Safari.

  2. Log in if prompted.

  3. You will see a modal asking to enable location access—click Enable Location.

  4. Your location should now be detected, and the app should work as expected.

Your device should now provide Incidenta with access to your location.

4.2. If Not Prompted for Location in Safari

  1. In Safari, go to https://app.incidenta.org.

  2. Log in if prompted.

  3. After logging in, you should be prompted by Safari to allow location access.

  4. Select Allow While Using App when prompted.

Your device should now provide Incidenta with access to your location.
